3-Day Round Treks & Authentic Amazigh Experiences with Atlas Toubkal Trek. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the High Atlas Mountains on this comprehensive 3-day journey. Beyond the stunning landscapes, this trek focuses on the cultural heartbeat of the region. You will traverse the picturesque Imlil, Imnan, and Azzaden valleys, crossing high mountain passes and walking through ancient walnut groves. The highlight of this experience is the authentic connection with the local Amazigh people; you will stay in traditional guesthouses, enjoy home-cooked tagines, and witness a lifestyle that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. This circular route offers a perfect blend of physical activity and cultural immersion.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Imlil (1,740m) – Tizi n'Tamatert (2,279m) – Tacheddirt (2,400m) Your authentic Amazigh experience begins in Imlil with Atlas Toubkal Trek. We set out towards the east, winding up mule tracks to the Tizi n'Tamatert pass (2,279m) for a spectacular view of the Imnan Valley. After a picnic lunch at the pass, we continue down into the valley to the village of Tacheddirt, the highest settlement in the Atlas. Here, you will settle into a local gîte and enjoy traditional Berber hospitality. Walking time: 5 hours

Day 2:

Tacheddirt – Imsker – Tizi n'Lbour (1,500m) – Imi Oughlad (1,400m) After a traditional breakfast, we leave the Tacheddirt valley and follow the river past typical Berber hamlets. We trek through walnut groves and terraced fields, observing local farmers at work. We cross the Tizi n'Lbour pass and descend into the Imsker valley, eventually reaching the village of Imi Oughlad. This day offers a deep dive into the daily life of the mountain communities. Overnight in a local family home. Walking time: 5–6 hours

Day 3:

Imi Oughlad – Tizi n'Tacht (2,000m) – Azzaden Valley – Imlil The final day starts with a climb through a forest of juniper trees to the Tizi n'Tacht pass (2,000m), offering panoramic views of the Azzaden Valley. We descend through the colorful, red-soil villages of the region before making our way back towards Imlil. We arrive in the afternoon, concluding our round trek with Atlas Toubkal Trek. Walking time: 4–5 hours
