Itinerary

Day 1:

Marrakech – High Atlas – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges Depart from your accommodation in Marrakech at 9:00 AM with Atlas Toubkal Trek for a scenic drive through the Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. The road winds through traditional Berber villages and spectacular landscapes before descending toward Ouarzazate. En route, you'll have the option to visit the Ouarzazate Film Studios or take a short hike in the surrounding area. From there, the journey continues through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Gorges. Overnight at a guesthouse or hotel in the valley. Driving time: 6 to 7 hours

Day 2:

Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga – Sahara Camp After breakfast, travel east toward the Todra Gorge, a natural canyon where towering cliffs rise dramatically over a narrow river valley. Take time to explore the gorge or walk through the nearby palmery, an oasis lined with date palms and small traditional farms. In the afternoon, continue to Merzouga, a town on the edge of the Sahara. After gathering supplies, transfer to a camel and ride across the dunes as the sun sets. Your destination is a desert camp where dinner is served under the stars, followed by a night in a traditional Berber tent or sleeping outdoors. Driving time: 4 to 5 hours

Day 3:

Merzouga – Tinjdad – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before returning by camel to the base camp for breakfast. After a short rest, set off on a drive west through desert towns and rocky plateaus toward Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most well-preserved ksars in Morocco, often featured in films and series. You will have time to walk through its alleys and learn about its history. Overnight in a nearby guesthouse or kasbah-style hotel. Driving time: 5 to 6 hours

Day 4:

Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech On your final day, travel through the Ounila Valley, a scenic route dotted with red villages and terraced fields. Stop at the historic Telouet Kasbah, once home to the influential Glaoui family. Explore its remaining rooms and mosaics before continuing over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. Return to Marrakech in the late afternoon. Driving time: 3 to 4 hours
